Strong start to the anniversary year – Mekanex celebrates 65 years

At the time of writing, we are approaching the end of this year's first quarter. Our world is, as usual, characterized by uncertainty and rapid changes. It is almost starting to feel like a cliché – but the world seems to constantly offer new challenges.

Whether it is financial crises, pandemics or war in Europe, it is trade tariffs, conflicts in the Middle East or other factors that create concern in the world economy. In our latest newsletter, we noted that 2025 was a weaker year for Mekanex, as for many companies within the manufacturing industry. At the same time, we believed that interest rate cuts and economic stimulus would contribute to increased demand during 2026.

Now we can conclude that the year has actually started very strong for Mekanex. The order intake has increased significantly, although it is of course too early to draw any far-reaching conclusions about the rest of the year. Much will depend on how the situation in the world develops. Hopefully, the situation in the Middle East and thus also the oil price will stabilize – otherwise there is a risk that the economic upturn might stall.

2026 is a special year for us at Mekanex. This year we celebrate 65 years as a company. It is a milestone that gives reason to both feel pride and reflect on the journey made since the start in 1961. Much has changed in the industry during these decades – but one thing has remained constant: the value of long-term relationships with customers, suppliers and employees.

The fact that we get to continue developing together with you, is something we are very grateful for. During the anniversary year, we will also highlight our history and the shared journey we have made together with many of you.

Internally, we continue to develop the business. In mid-March, we strengthened our Swedish team with a new employee – Amir Gohari. A young sales engineer with a strong focus to help customers. 

We have also begun the work of filming parts of our business and how we work. First up is a presentation of our latest investment, a laser marking machine. With that machine, we can easily mark our products in a smooth and functional way, for example with serial numbers, article numbers or customer-specific information. We can also mark your article numbers or logos directly on the components if desired.

During the spring, we also look forward to meeting many of you when we exhibit at Euro Expo in Bergen, Norway on May 20-21.

This type of meeting place is always appreciated and gives us the opportunity to meet, discuss new projects and continue developing relationships with both customers and partners.
